Last week we stayed 3 nights at the Eastgate Motel. We were in town for the State Junior Rugby Championship carnival and our Queen Room was a real haven during a hectic time.

The room was very clean with good quality and comfortable furnishing. The bed was just gorgeous. We appreciated coming back to the room each evening to find that it had been serviced, the bed made and new towels and the mini bar restocked.

The large flat-screen TV had excellent reception and colour. The bathroom was large with every facility required including body wash, shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the large shower.

The Motel is right on the Range Highway which is very busy and noisy, we had probably one of the rooms closest to the highway - but in the Room it is very well sound proofed and was not a problem at all. Step out onto the Balcony though that fronted the highway and it was really noisy. Simple answer to that was to stay off the balcony and keep the double glazed glass door closed.

All in all we will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it. Terrific value for money.

The Eastgate and its owner managers are first rate. I have stayed there on many occasions as a business traveller and have never had cause for complaint. It is an architect designed motel with an eye for comfort. If you are travelling through or to Toowoomba be sure to drop in and say hi to the owners, Merv and Leonna, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
Room Tip: Just ask the owners, but I have not been able to find a bad room.

We stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom bungalow. The unit was very spacious, comfortable and modern. I cannot vouch for other room types, although they looked attractive from the outside and the property appeared well maintained. The accommodation was very suitable for a family as our daughter had her own room.

The unit had a double bedroom, bathroom, seperate bedroom with 2 single beds. Open plan kitchen dining and lounge and a pleasant veranda with table and chairs. Polished floors, flat screen TV and DVD player. Single reverse cycle air conditioner for unit.

We ate breakfast at the restraunt each morning, although room service (for breakfast) is available.

Positives:
- Spacious
- Modern an fresh
- Clean
- Breakfast was excelllent (except the coffee)
- Service was friendly country hospitality
- Pleasant location
Negatives
- Location on main road can be noisy
- Coffee (Latte and Filter) at breakfast was weak as water. Asking for it to be stronger next morning did not result in an improvement.
- Remote control for DVD player missing. Reception unable to replace.
- A single reverse cycle air conditioner was a bit stretched to keep the entire unti warm on an August night in Toowoomba.
- Was charged $185 per night for the room (three people) dispite the web site saying $180 for 4 people. Not a big deal, but a minor annoyance never the less.
- Very strange servicing of rooms..
Being a serviced motel style accommodation, we expected our beds made and room tidied. The website states room serviced daily. After placing the "please make up our room" notice on the door when we left for the day, we returned to find little changed. At first we thought I room simply had not been serviced, as beds were as we left them, towels in bathroom neither replaced on straightened and no obvious sign that the room had been attended or cleaned in any way. However, we then noticed, that a single face washer had been replaced and the end of the toilet paper had bee folded into a little triangle. This was really strange.

While the unit was clean and fresh when we arrived, a service the next days was expected.

Despite the negative issues raised, overall it was very pleasant motel to stay at, and suited our needs. I would stay there again. I suggest asking for a room at the back of the motel, as the main highway is noisy.
Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the motel. The main highway is noisy.

Excellent standard of room, stunning food from the restaurant, with all staff encountered very pleasant. Not centrally located in the CBD - but not a negative as only minutes away. Will definitely stay again :)
Room Tip: Ask for a room away from street frontage

We only stayed one night in this lovely motel and right away we felt like we should stay longer. The room was very well equipped and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and every comfort. They have really nice huge bath towels and a lovely comfy bed with great pillows. There was also a good sized flatscreen TV and FREE internet ( what a pity the larger hotels 'can't' do this). They also have a really top class restaurant with fantastic food at reasonable prices and a nice little bar area to have a drink before dinner. Our room was towards the back so we had no problem with noise from the highway. A great place to stay all round. Highly recommended !
Room Tip: Ask for a room towards the back to avoid road noise.

I have no hesitation rating this motel as 'excellent' on the basis of my week's stay here. The room was spacious and spotless, and attractively furnished. Free broadband internet, a large digital TV, and room service dinner from the excellent in-house restaurant put many city hotels to shame. Of course, one imagines that costs in a country town are considerably less than those in the big cities, but even so, it's been many many years since I've enjoyed this level of comfort, service and convenience for $130/night.
The motel's location allows for great morning walks towards Picnic Point, if you want to clear the cobwebs away. There's a bakery in the shopping centre a couple of blocks away where you can pick up a coffee on the way back from your walk. If I was travelling in the area on holidays as well, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here either. In summary, one of the more surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable business stays I've had in a long time.
