Awesome Stay
September 13, 2013 - Really Liked It
When we arrived we were greeted with a cheerful, Good morning from the housekeepers, so very friendly and a friendly smile & wave from the Gardner who works miracles on the grounds. The service, accommodation and the food that we had served to us was the absolute best. Toni, who greeted us at reception did such an outstanding job,not just for us,but also for the other guest. We were there for a week,so reassuring, knowing that when we arrived back to our room everything was just the way we left it. Even though we were so close to the road, we couldn't hear the traffic, as busy as it was and our bed, so comfortable, had many goodnight sleeps. Chef's presentation of food excellent and the food delicious, breakfast in the morning so yummy. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great Stay
May 22, 2013 - Really Liked It
We had a very good stay at Eastgate on the Range....rooms nice and spacious...we stayed in a room up the back....it was nice and quiet considering we were so close to the highway and we slept in a very comfortable bed. Toni greeted us on arrival after a long trip from Charleville (due to the road works) and she then waited on us when we returned for dinner. Toni was new to her role at the motel and did a fantastic job, juggling both reception and also waiting on guests in the restaurant. The restaurant service and meals were excellent. We would be happy to recommend this motel to others.

Best motel food ever
May 9, 2013 - Really Liked It
I stayed here for one night as I just moved here. The room was very clean and spacious, massive bathroom and a comfy bed. I went to the I'm house restaurant for dinner with no expectations as let's face it, motel food is usually over priced and reasonable in taste. But omg it was beautiful, perfection and a good price, I recommend the beer battered king prawns ans the rump. Will definitely be going back for dinner and encouraging family and friends to book to stay there when visiting.

Good room and excellent service even though it was a "full house
April 29, 2013 - Really Liked It
We travelled to Toowoomba with a large group of barbershop and Acapella singers for a competition and most stayed at the Eastgate on the Range motel, which was totally booked out by the group. Despite being full, we received excellent and timely service, our triple room and facilities therein were spotless.
The buildings that comprise the motel are well maintained and the garden surroundings well kept and pleasant.
The motel has a bar and restaurant in the same building as reception; I dined there one evening and had the gourmet sausages accompanied by mashed potatoes drenched in an apple puree with a tangy sauce. Ample hot vegetables came in a separate dish. Altogether a satisfying meal.

Excellent dinners and clean room
February 8, 2013 - Really Liked It
The rooms are clean and tidy, aircon worked great. A small amount of road noise but i was in room 12 which is by far closest to the road.
Room service breakfast was avg, forgot a few things in my order each time (milk for coffee, butter for toast ect) But the cooked food itself was ok
Dinner meals were much better then i expected, very high quailty.
Will return!

Eastgate was a wonderful hotel.
October 28, 2012 - Really Liked It
We were booked into the Eastgate after another hotel made an error with our booking. We are glad for the mistake. This hotel was wonderful and clean, had beautiful linen and towels normally reserved for big 5 star hotels. The decor was simple and modern and very roomy and comfortable.
Unfortunately we were only there for one night and out again early. But because of the comfort of the hotel would love to return, spend a few days and enjoy the restaurant.
Thank you!

Good value accom in Toowoomba
February 24, 2012 - Really Liked It
Stayed here Jan 21 for one night.
Very good customer service from the phone booking to checkin to checkout.
There are a variety of rooms to choose from and we were allocated a balcony room which was quite large for $130 per night.
There are the usual fittings: fridge, kettle, toaste, etc.
Everything was very clean.
Even thogh the windows are double glazed there is some traffic noise but this seems to stop around 9pm and start around 6am. Only a problem if you wish to sit out on the balcony for a drink ot the view.
Would stay again - there are a lot of motels in Toowoomba priced way above this one which are very old and tired and not too clean.

Comfortable but lots of road noise
February 20, 2012 - Liked It
We stayed in a 2 bedroom self contained unit in mid December 2011 overnight whilst travelling.

The unit was very clean, but we had trouble with the shower & bathroom doors sticking.

The noise from the highway, even with all the doors shut was a real issue. It was hard for all of us to fall asleep and you could feel the rumble of the trucks throughout the unit.

So although comfortable and clean, we had very little sleep which was a disappointment for us.

Absolutely Wonderful
September 26, 2011 - Really Liked It
The Eastgate and its owner managers are first rate. I have stayed there on many occasions as a business traveller and have never had cause for complaint. It is an architect designed motel with an eye for comfort. If you are travelling through or to Toowoomba be sure to drop in and say hi to the owners, Merv and Leonna, I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Clean fresh, modern and comfortable. Would stay again.
August 11, 2011 - Really Liked It
We stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom bungalow. The unit was very spacious, comfortable and modern. I cannot vouch for other room types, although they looked attractive from the outside and the property appeared well maintained. The accommodation was very suitable for a family as our daughter had her own room.

The unit had a double bedroom, bathroom, seperate bedroom with 2 single beds. Open plan kitchen dining and lounge and a pleasant veranda with table and chairs. Polished floors, flat screen TV and DVD player. Single reverse cycle air conditioner for unit.

We ate breakfast at the restraunt each morning, although room service (for breakfast) is available.

- Spacious
- Modern an fresh
- Clean
- Breakfast was excelllent (except the coffee)
- Service was friendly country hospitality
- Pleasant location
- Location on main road can be noisy
- Coffee (Latte and Filter) at breakfast was weak as water. Asking for it to be stronger next morning did not result in an improvement.
- Remote control for DVD player missing. Reception unable to replace.
- A single reverse cycle air conditioner was a bit stretched to keep the entire unti warm on an August night in Toowoomba.
- Was charged $185 per night for the room (three people) dispite the web site saying $180 for 4 people. Not a big deal, but a minor annoyance never the less.
- Very strange servicing of rooms..
Being a serviced motel style accommodation, we expected our beds made and room tidied. The website states room serviced daily. After placing the "please make up our room" notice on the door when we left for the day, we returned to find little changed. At first we thought I room simply had not been serviced, as beds were as we left them, towels in bathroom neither replaced on straightened and no obvious sign that the room had been attended or cleaned in any way. However, we then noticed, that a single face washer had been replaced and the end of the toilet paper had bee folded into a little triangle. This was really strange.

While the unit was clean and fresh when we arrived, a service the next days was expected.

Despite the negative issues raised, overall it was very pleasant motel to stay at, and suited our needs. I would stay there again. I suggest asking for a room at the back of the motel, as the main highway is noisy.

Absolutely top grade!
August 3, 2011 - Really Liked It
We only stayed one night in this lovely motel and right away we felt like we should stay longer. The room was very well equipped and very comfortable. Spotlessly clean and every comfort. They have really nice huge bath towels and a lovely comfy bed with great pillows. There was also a good sized flatscreen TV and FREE internet ( what a pity the larger hotels 'can't' do this). They also have a really top class restaurant with fantastic food at reasonable prices and a nice little bar area to have a drink before dinner. Our room was towards the back so we had no problem with noise from the highway. A great place to stay all round. Highly recommended !

One of the best in its class
June 18, 2011 - Really Liked It
I have no hesitation rating this motel as 'excellent' on the basis of my week's stay here. The room was spacious and spotless, and attractively furnished. Free broadband internet, a large digital TV, and room service dinner from the excellent in-house restaurant put many city hotels to shame. Of course, one imagines that costs in a country town are considerably less than those in the big cities, but even so, it's been many many years since I've enjoyed this level of comfort, service and convenience for $130/night.
The motel's location allows for great morning walks towards Picnic Point, if you want to clear the cobwebs away. There's a bakery in the shopping centre a couple of blocks away where you can pick up a coffee on the way back from your walk. If I was travelling in the area on holidays as well, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here either. In summary, one of the more surprisingly pleasant and enjoyable business stays I've had in a long time.

Fantastic service, lovely rooms, BEST COFFEE!
December 14, 2010 - Really Liked It
We booked this place based on reviews from trip advisor and couldn't fault anything but our lack of navigation! From the moment we arrived we were greeted with happy smiling staff, fast no fuss check in and off we go to the room. One thing to note is these rooms state upstairs ect they aren't actually up stairs you sort of enter in what would be the back of the room where it is all flat, what would be the front is all windows top to floor, which is good as one person staying was disabled. The rooms were a great size, not to small but not to big the couch was that comfy i stopped for 10 minutes and dozed off. The beds weren't to my liking but everyone else there said it was great! very clean feeling and smelling linen (one of my pet peeves when it smells funny). The bathroom was disabled friendly with room for a wheelchair and a bench seat that was able to be flush against the wall for normal usage. One thing i noticed was no exhust fan, but a window in the bathroom with a curtain which i thought was fab as it allowed a breeze and cleared the steam without invasion of privacy.
Parking wasn't an issue at all the grounds are large, hilly but 4wd friendly also! We ate breaky at the resturant in the morning. The big breaky beat some 5 star hotels i've stayed in, very tasty cooked how i like it. One note is my friend didn't want tomato, and i wanted extra so without the fuss and cost they just fixed it all up for us. Coffee i thought was brillant and i love my coffee, not to strong or bitter, not to hot, perfect froth for the cappas. Warm friendly family environment with class and professionalism, except my clatter as i dropped my fork... 🙂

For it been based at the top of the range i didn't hear much traffic noise at all, and i'm a light sleeper.
2 weeks after our initial stay our friend from Sydney came back with his family and also stayed there in the exact same room and was delighted also. Well done guys lovely accommodation, fantastic service!

Stayed in Eastgate motel for 3 nights during a business trip. The room was clean and comfortable. Wired hi-speed broadband internet access in room was free. The motel provided most of the stuff you would expect from a hotel such as room service, daily clean-up, laundry service, etc.

Top of the Range
September 30, 2009 - Really Liked It
Wanted a good quality motel in Toowoomba to view the end of the Carnival of Flowers. Spotted this Motel via the web and viewed many others before deciding to give the Eastgate a go.
On arrival everything was smooth except the weather was a complete dust storm and cold and windy. The owners of the Motel were spot on. Booking went smooth and my wife and I entered a one quuen bedroom unit. Very clean to say the least and fairly new (2005).
We were struck by the cleanliness in the room and shower room.
Utilised airconditioning due to the dust storm.
So impressed with the motel we decided to stay and have a meal at the "Restaurant 22"
The Restaurant was quite no doubt due to the storm, but the meals were excellent. Best Rump steak I have ever eaten. The owners both were noted for also serving, due to staff not being available on a Saturday. (Businesses always have this trouble as young ones want to party) . The Restaurant was great value and has a good future if promoted more as it is a quality resturant. Service was excellent.

Decided also to have breakfast next morning which was served in a continuing dust storm by the owner.
The owners enjoy what they do and this came across in the way the Motel is run. They deserve their rewards.
Will be returning next year with relatives to see the Carnival of Flowers again and also may be back simply to be a Toowoomba Tourist knowing there is a great Motel to stay at.
A very enjoyable expeirence.

Excellent Value
December 28, 2008 - Really Liked It
The Eastgate on the Range was excellent. We stayed in one of the two bedroom bungalows with another couple. The bungalow had a queen bed in one room, two single beds in another. Large lounge area with a well appointed kitchen and air conditioning. There was also an outside deck with table and chairs. Bathroom was great with a large shower and heaps of bench space (important for the girls). The entire bungalow was immaculately clean, modern and very comfortable with plenty of room for four adults. Check in and check out was hassle free and very pleasant staff. The only drawback is the position close to the main Brisbane road which means lots of trucks all night. However, this did not keep any of us awake but may affect a very light sleeper.

Liked — Clean, modern
Disliked — Position close to the highway

Great Friendly Service!
April 3, 2008 - Really Liked It
In Aug 2007, we travelled to Toowoomba from Brisbane for soccer match & didnt feel like driving back to Brisbane after the game. Found a few different motels vai the internet but Eastgate on The Range stuck out. New in 2005 & a great location. Turned out to be brilliant service. They took my details by email months in advance & if anything changed, they advised they were flexible.

The 1 bed self-contained bungalow was fantastic, plenty of room and comfy sofa/bed etc.
On arrival my partner checked to see Fox Sports was activited - no problems, they would ensure it was activated.

After reviewing room service menu we checked if we could have a late dinner - the kitchen would be closed before we returned - but Col (owner/manager) advised he would have the chef cook our meals at the last moment before switiching the stove off & would leave them in our rooms. We got back, heated them through and they were wonderful!!

The service, room quality and food definitley exceeded our expectations. We made a point of letting Col know we would be back - and we will, in May 2008....

Liked — Service and friendliness of staff
Disliked — Nothing
